A large amount of smoke was reported at a home in Newhall Saturday, prompting officials to temporarily shut down Oak Ridge Drive.
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to reports of a residential fire on the 22000 block of Oak Ridge Drive Saturday evening, according to officials.
Receiving reports around 4:45 p.m, LA County Fire Department officials responded to a two-story apartment building on Oak Ridge Drive.
“It was an apartment house fire on Oak Ridge Drive,” said Stafford, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “When fire arrived, it was just food on the stove.”
The amount of smoke the burnt food prompted officials to name the situation the “Oak Incident.”
The residential fire reportedly had both directions of Oak Ridge Drive closed to traffic.
It is unknown at this time if any damage was caused to the building, or if there are any injuries related to the Oak Incident.
