Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station made an arrest Thursday after identifying a stolen vehicle on the northbound 14 Freeway near Newhall, officials said.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies identified a stolen vehicle on the 14 Freeway near Newhall Avenue, according to officials.

“It was a stolen car investigation and one person was taken into custody,” said Lt. Jim Royal of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

All lanes along the northbound 14 Freeway near the Golden Valley overpass were closed for several minutes in an effort to make the arrest, according to officials.

“The person pulled over and was taken into custody,” Royal said.
