A person was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in Valencia after driving over 100 miles an hour on the 5 Freeway, officials said.
Around 2:50 p.m., officials with the California Highway Patrol received reports of a white BMW going around 120 mph, weaving in and out of lanes on the southbound 5 Freeway north of Parker Road, said Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.
“We got behind the car around Parker Road,” Greengard said.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the 5 Freeway near Highway 126, according to officials.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, according to CHP officials.
Officers at the scene did request a K-9 unit to respond; however, as of the publication of this article, CHP officials did not have any information as to why the dog was needed, Greengard said.
