Three Assault Suspects Arrested After Sending Neighbor To The Hospital

Three men who allegedly assaulted and hospitalized their neighbor and co-worker were taken into custody Friday.

Around 8 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on the 27300 block of Rock Rose Lane in Canyon Country, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported the suspect was physically assaulting another party,” Arriaga said. “Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim was physically assaulted by three co-workers who reside in the apartment complex.”

The victim sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital, according to Arriaga.

Esteban Godinez 53, Omar Garcia, 27 and Hugo Garcia, 27, all from Canyon Country, were arrested at the apartment complex and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for assault with a deadly weapon likely to produce great bodily injury, Arriaga said.

The three suspects remain in custody at this time.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
