A Lake Los Angeles man was arrested Sunday on vandalism charges, after he allegedly cut a hole in a fence to retrieve his car from a ditch.
Around 8:45 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the 24135 block of Creekside Road in Valencia regarding two suspicious-looking men trying to tow a vehicle from a ditch, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Deputies arrived and contacted a male standing alongside a Lexus in a ditch adjacent to a bike path and the riverbed,” Arriaga said.
During the investigation, deputies observed bolt cutters in the vehicle, which they later learned were used to cut fencing to attempt to move the man’s vehicle from the ditch, Arriaga said.
It is estimated that $800 in damages was caused, according to Arriaga.
Artin Arakelian, 44, from Lake Los Angeles was arrested for felony vandalism, Arriaga said.
Arakelian was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody as of Tuesday evening, according to Arriaga.
