After multiple petty thefts were reported at a Canyon Country drugstore, deputies and detectives decided to take action, officials said.
A woman was arrested in Canyon Country due to a joint effort by Crime Impact Team (CIT) deputies and detectives team with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Tuesday, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.
On Tuesday, June 4, officials blanketed the area with uniformed and plainclothes personnel from their teams to watch the inside and outside of store, according to Miller.
During the effort, an individual who was recognized by personnel as allegedly committing recent thefts, walked in the store, selected cosmetics and walked out without paying for them.
Deputies also found that she had narcotics in her vehicle, according to officials.
The suspect was transported and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, according to Miller.
