Dealio Lockhart, 35, was charged with three counts of second-degree murder and four counts of reckless driving on a highway causing a specified injury.

Lockhart had pleaded not guilty in April of last year and will be making another appearance in the courtroom Monday, January 30.

It is alleged that Lockhart was racing his Dodge Challenger with another vehicle around midnight, February 27, 2016, near downtown Los Angeles.

One of the vehicles lost control, causing a UPS truck to go airborne and crash over the center median.

The UPS driver, Scott Treadway, 52, also was killed.

In addition to the three fatalities, four others were seriously injured: two males in the Nissan and man and a woman in separate cars.

Lockhart has been residing in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles since July 24, 2016 and is currently being held on $6,200,000 bail.

  1. Although I know that the families of the deceased will never be fine again, I am so pleased to see that the culprit is going to pay the price for what he has done. Such a tragedy! Young lives cut much too short.

  2. Did they ever identify the other racer? & How do you plead not guilty to an accident that YOU caused out of stupidity for a 5 minute adrenaline rush that resulted in the loss of innocent lives and permanent devastation of family & friends? I’ll never understand that. So angry at such careless disregard of others!!!

  3. Remember, it is as written…”alleged” and not guilty. We all enjoy the protection given to us by the sixth amendment.
