Dr. Jaimie Ronchetto of Cinema Veterinary Centre in Valencia has helped furry friends and their families for years and is one of SCV’s most valued veterinarians in the valley.
Dr. Jaimie focuses on the care of dogs and cats, and also rabbits, hamsters, and rats. Cinema Vet also sees the occasional bearded dragon, and other reptiles as seen by colleague, Dr. Amber Wheelbarger.
Dr. Jaimie recommends her clients bring their animals in for a checkup about every 6 months, to upkeep with screenings, especially for senior pets to make sure their kidneys and livers are functioning properly. Those two organs are especially important to monitor to make sure everything is working properly internally, if nothing is wrong externally.
A common issue in dogs, senior or not, is arthritis usually in the back or the hips. Dr. Jaimie recently finished courses in earning her certification in the practice of acupuncture on dogs and cats.

Acupuncture is a form of treatment which includes tiny needles that are inserted into the skin to stimulate certain bundles of nerves that provide relief when hormones, like endorphins are released throughout the body.
Dr. Jaimie believes that this treatment for animals is on the rise and once it becomes more mainstream, it will provide relief for our four-legged friends when they participate on a consistent basis.
