The Canyon Theatre Guild has announced that two new shows are set to premiere in Santa Clarita, reintroducing live theatre performances to the local public.
In the live showing of “Pride and Prejudice,” audiences are set to follow Elizabeth Bennet through her life in 1812.
“When the independent-minded Elizabeth meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy, she is determined not to let her feelings triumph over her own good sense — but the truth turns out to be more slippery than it seems. In a society where subtle snubs and deceit proliferate, is it possible for Elizabeth and Darcy to look beyond his pride and her prejudice, and to make the best match of all?” said theatre officials.
The Jane Austen classic, Pride and Prejudice, is set to be shown from Friday, Aug. 13 through Sunday, Aug. 29.
The second show, “Suite Surrender,” brings a touch of laughter to audiences in the early 20th century.
“Join the Canyon Theatre Guild for some much-needed laughter and delight with the hysterical comedy farce, Suite Surrender,” said theatre officials
This classic farce of the 1930s/40s is scheduled to be held from Saturday, July 24 through Sunday, Aug. 15.
With mistaken identities, overblown egos and a lap dog named “Mr. Boodles.” Suite Surrender is expected to use mild adult language and is not recommended for children.
