The long-awaited Laemmle Theatre is ready to open, with a ribbon-cutting scheduled for April, according to the Laemmle family.
After a year of Laemmle Theatres locations being closed, it is time for them to reopen alongside the opening of its newest location in Newhall, on the corner of Railroad Avenue and Lyons Avenue.
“Laemmle Theatres will be reopening on Friday, April 9.,” posted Tish Laemmle. “Greg and I will be at the ribbon-cutting for our brand new theatre in Oldtown Newhall at 11 a/m/ Please join us if you are available. With masks on, of course.”
Laemmle was able to stay in business through the pandemic by patrons purchasing gift cards and Laemmle Premiere cards, in addition to government stimuli. All but two locations are expected to reopen on the ninth, according to Greg Laemmle.

When the Laemmle opens April 9, capacity in each auditorium is expected to be at 25 percent, and reserving seats before arriving for showtimes is recommended in alignment with guidelines set by the state and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
In anticipation of the upcoming 93rd Annual Academy Awards, Laemmle theatres are expected to show Oscar-nominated pictures when they reopen, according to Laemmle.

Obviously you haven’t been in the area for a while. Main Street has the best restaurants, wineries and brewery in the SCV.
