FX Network’s crime drama “Mayans MC” is scheduled to film in Old Town Newhall Friday, featuring mock weapons and overnight motorcycle driving scenes, officials said.
“Mayans MC,” a spin-off of the “Sons of Anarchy” series, plans to film from 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6 to 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, with driving shots scheduled for overnight production.
The cast is scheduled to have interior and exterior dialogue at the Sweatshack as cast members walk along the Main Street sidewalk, according to production officials.
The scenes set to be filmed are expected to show the cast of the show smoking and brandishing mock weapons during production.
Between the hours of 7 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday, several driving shots involving motorcycles are scheduled for filming along Main Street, 8th Street, Newhall Avenue, Lyons Avenue, Market Avenue and Railroad Avenue.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies are set to be on site for traffic control and safety at each location during the overnight shoot.
Filming is also set to include the use of a Condor, a large lighting rig placed atop a cherry-picker that is often used for outdoor scenes.
Officials are advising residents to find appropriate parking spaces, as portions of Main Street, 8th Street and Walnut Street are scheduled to have “no parking” zones between the hours of 7 a.m. Friday and 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
The “no parking” zones are expected to stretch into the weekend, with portions of Main Street scheduled to have “no parking” zones between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday.
