Sara Evans, Savannah Burrows To Perform At The Canyon Santa Clarita Tuesday

Award-winning country music star Sara Evans is set to perform at The Canyon Santa Clarita on Tuesday, with local up-and-coming country artist Savannah Burrows set to open.

Evans — who has had five No. 1 singles, won the Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist Award and claimed a Country Music Association trophy — is scheduled to perform in Santa Clarita on June 4.

“We have been huge Sara Evans fans for years,” said Carl Goldman, owner of KHTS Radio, who is organizing the concert. “This is the first time she is appearing in the Southern California region for awhile.”

Evans, who recently released her eighth studio album, “Words,” is also set to have local country star Savannah Burrows open for the show.

“Having our hometown singer and songwriter Savannah Burrows joining Sara as her special guest is thrilling,” Goldman said.

Evans has been an inspiration for Burrows, who began her country music career when she won the 2016 KHTS Country Showdown.

“It’s a true honor to open up for someone who’s not only a staple in country music, but someone who has inspired me to do what I do today,” Burrows said. “I remember the year 2012, begging my mom to play ‘A Little Bit Stronger’ during every car ride, and wanting to sing just like Sara. She’s influenced so much of my writing and technique and I just have so much respect for her and her amazing musical journey.”

Burrows is expected to sing original music from her upcoming album as she opens for the country music legend.

“Performing at The Canyon has allowed me to have so much stage time and so much more experience. I’m so thankful for Lance Sterling and his willingness to give me a shot and learn more about the art of storytelling on stage,” Burrows said.

Both the Santa Clarita show on June 4 and a second performance at the brand new Canyon Montclair venue on June 5 are expected to sell out, Goldman said.
