Abominable Pictures was shooting a new web series “Do You Want to See a Dead Body?”.

The filming was done at Mac’s Pool and Spa Supply, and closed their parking lot.

The series was picked up by YouTube Red, which is a paid subscription service that allows you to watch youtube videos without advertisements.

“Do You Want to See a Dead Body?” was originally a series of shorts on the comedy website Funny or Die, but is now being developed into an online YouTube original series.

In the show, host Rob Huebel takes guests on a journey to find a dead body. Huebel’s show will debut among 13 other YouTube original series in 2017.

The other TV show being shot in Old Town Newhall was “Shooter,” which is an ongoing series on USA Network.

Paramount Pictures is the production company, and closed down a stretch of Walnut street between 6th Street and 8th Street for the set.

IMDB describes the series as, “A conspiracy thriller that follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the president.”

The Season 2 premiere of “Shooter” is set for July 18.

  1. The “set” didn’t close the parking lot – the City closed the parking lot!
the City is the one that issued the permit. Some of us are pretty tired of being the movie industry’s back lot so the city can make a buck on it.

  2. The whole story sounds like a waste of time. What a stupid title. Is there no end to this low class form of entertainment.

  3. This is poor journalism. An accurate headline would read, “TV filming does not affect Main Street.”

Working with the City, which then notifies businesses and residents in advance about any area where shooting, The production company then performs a signature survey of surrounding neighbors. This provides people with an opportunity to officially voice their concerns.

The parking that was “closed” is owned by the businesses which were paid by the production company. So, in fact, it was rented. At not time was any parking on Main Street taken. I have pictures to prove that.

Prior to filming a member of production walked through the location with Jeri Goldman of KHTS. It’s unfortunate that the same company would then skew a non-event in the hopes of creating a story.

This is so insignificant it can’t even be called Fake News. But then again, truth is stranger than fiction. Right?
