Los Angeles County Firefighters responded to a reported Canyon Country hazardous materials call Tuesday, officials said.
Around 3:15 p.m. firefighters received reports of a hazardous material call on the 29000 block of Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country, said Leslie Lua, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We received reports of Super Gel-X being spilled,” Lua said.
When units arrived on scene they reported about 200 gallons of a non-toxic material had spilled, according to Fire officials.
“No structures or drains are threatened,” Lua said.
Although reports were that the non-toxic material was Super Gel-X, a drilling fluid, as of 3:40 p.m., crews are still working to determine exactly what the substance is, according to Fire officials.
No injuries have been reported, according to officials.
