An 18-year-old Canyon Country girl who was reported missing Thursday has been found, and her mother believes an abusive boyfriend may be responsible for her disappearance.
Jasmine Gonzalez, 18, was found Friday, she reportedly went missing Thursday afternoon after leaving to go on a walk, according to her mother, Nancee Rittorno.
“She told me she was going out for a walk, and next thing I know she’s missing,” Rittorno said.
Gonzalez went missing near a condominium community off of Prairie Lane, Rittorno said.
“Jasmine was wearing a red pullover hoodie of USC with black leggings, burgundy shoes,” Rittorno said. “She had a green short sleeve shirt.”
Gonzalez was also described as having braces, a nose ring on her right side, and tattoos on her right hand. Rittorno believes she may have been taken by her boyfriend, who Rittorno alleges abused Gonzalez.
“Jasmine has bruises on her arms and a bruise on her neck on the right from him choking her,” Rittorno said.
Rittorno is scared that her daughter may be in danger, as her phone is dead and her boyfriend is believed to be in possession of a firearm.
“We reported him to the sheriff’s, and they were investigating him,” Rittorno said.
Rittorno said she filed a missing person report with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station late Thursday afternoon, and is looking for any information to help her find her daughter.
