A child was airlifted to the hospital from Castaic Wednesday after suffering from a nosebleed, officials said.
Around 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of an “advanced life support” call for a bleeding nose on Lupine Street in Castaic, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
When units arrived on scene, they requested the helicopter to respond, according to Fire officials.
The child was transported in an ambulance to the nearest heliport, located at Pitchess Detention Center, where they were airlifted, according to Fire officials.
“The patient was transported to a local hospital,” Lopez said.
The condition of the child is unknown as of Wednesday afternoon, according to Fire officials.

Hope the child is o.k. – this must have been a very serious nosebleed – or are there other underlying medical issues with the patient that required a helicopter for transport?
