Deputies are investigating a dead body that was located in William S. Hart Park Friday morning in Newhall, officials said.

Around 6:20 a.m., first responders received reports of a dead body at Hart Park on the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue, said Sgt. Iberri, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

When paramedics arrived to the incident, they found a male in his 30s who was pronounced dead on scene, said Sarah Ardalani, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

The body appeared to be found in a park restroom, with crime scene tape blocking the entrance, according to officials on scene.

The identity of the decedent and the cause of death are still pending as of Friday morning, according to Ardalani.
