One Hospitalized After Allegedly Trying To Steal From Canyon Country Business

One person was taken to a nearby hospital Monday night after he reportedly attempted to steal items from a liquor store in Canyon Country.

At around 6:55 p.m., deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a petty theft occurring at the Party Time Liquor on the 27100 block of Sierra Highway, just north of Via Princessa in Canyon Country.

The initial call stated that “a tall, male black adult was attempting to steal items,” according to an official with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Information Bureau.

When deputies arrived to the liquor store, they reportedly found that the suspect had been injured as a result of an altercation with a store employee, prompting them to call first responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We got a call from the sheriff’s in the area,” said Supervisor Pittman with the department.

One male adult was transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition as a result of the incident, according to fire officials.

That man, later identified as 46-year-old Michael Askew of Lancaster, has since been taken into custody and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail on $50,250 bail.

  1. That’s what you get when you steal from people! Wonder what exactly went down there! KHTS news! ?

  2. Glad to hear the store employee taught BLM a lesson on theft. Next he will try to sue the owner for racial profiling. All of these crimes are straight out of the modern day Democrat playbook.

Lastly, check out how many stores were looted in downtown Chicago yesterday which resulted in millions of dollars in damages. Just another day in the life of the Democrats pro-defund police supporters.

  3. Well done, store employee! Steal from honest hard-working folks, you get your a$$ handed to you.
    Nice job!

  4. What a happy ending. Idiot tries to steal and had his a$$ handed to him. At least the police weren’t blamed for this one!! My hat is off to you store employee.

  5. OH No! Another BLM protest is coming to town. The thief paid the price for being stupid. Good job store employee. You deserve a raise for protecting not only your store, but our good LEO’s.
