One person was sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle Vazquez Canyon crash Saturday afternoon, officials said.
Around 1:18 p.m., firefighters received reports of a traffic collision with possible entrapment just east of Bouquet Canyon Road on Vasquez Canyon Road, said Ed Pickett, Supervising Fire Dispatcher for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We got a report of a traffic collision at Bouquet Canyon Road and Vasquez Canyon Road at 1:18 p.m this afternoon,” said Pickett. “There are two vehicles involved.”
When officials arrived on scene, they found one victim trapped in a vehicle, unable to exit on their own.
One car involved was driving eastbound on Vasquez Canyon. The car was potentially in the wrong lane, causing an oncoming car to swerve out of the way, hitting a canyon wall, according to Engineer Jason Livingstone with the LACoFD.
The car driving on the wrong side of the road then hit the opposite side of the canyon, bouncing off and rolling, Livingstone said.
“We are transporting one patient involved to a trauma center,” Pickett said.
One person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, according to Fire officials.
Traffic is impacted on Vasquez Canyon Road as of 1:50 p.m.
