At around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were pursuing at least two stolen vehicle suspects down the southbound 14 Freeway from Palmdale.

During the course of the pursuit, at least one of the suspects reportedly pointed a firearm out the window of the car and shot at pursuing deputies, according to officials on scene.

The pursuit passed through the east side of the Santa Clarita Valley down the southbound 14 Freeway before running through the Newhall Pass and merging onto the southbound I-5 Freeway.

The driver then bailed from the vehicle on foot near the 210 Freeway, running into traffic on the northbound 5 Freeway before being detained by deputies. The passenger was also taken into custody, according to officials on scene.

Both sides of the I-5 Freeway at the 210 were shutdown for an unknown duration due to the incident.

  1. This state needs to go RED again

They have no fear anymore . This is what happens when states remove the death penalty and you let criminals out early. Wake up CA our children’s future and safety is on the line

    • Get a grip dude what does the death penalty have to do with these guys… There is absolutely no link between the two. Further more after they exhaust their many appeals it been a very time consuming and tax dollar waste of time. You know what does that meth and a corrupt justice system that makes people fear to go to court. Ignorant judges and dirty cops have ruined the california penal institution. No longer do we have a good and bad guy, now we have a bad and worse guy. What’s worse is that the deputies act with almost complete immunity and indifference. They lie and bully people for the way they were treated growing up. That’s a fact! What needs to happen is that we need to have officers have stringent psychological tests done before acceptance into any law enforcement job that has them deciding people’s lives and carrying a weapon. Plus random drug testing to test for steroids. They are roid raging out. If you look at this video they surround this guy and keep punching him over and over and over. If I was him I would sue them. To have a badge and be a person of good for the community is a privelage. We need to start hiring people that care more and hate less. if we are hiring people carelessly because of the need for more cops, then that means maybe we are locking too many people up that don’t need incarceration. Maybe outreach or mentoring, counseling and therapy is the answer. This is obviously a failed system, when are we going to throw the towel in and rewrite how we treat people. Probably not in my lifetime. But your thinking sir is the exactly the hate and anger that causes this to happen. so if you need to blame someone blame yourself for your ignorant blunder that effects people in the worst way. Me I’ll pray for those affected with addictions and poverty and ask God to heal our hearts and minds.

You can take that to the bank!
