The veteran suicide rate is more than double the suicide rate of the civilian population. The law enforcement rate of suicide is very high as well. Combat veterans And law enforcement often deal with a lot of experiences that don’t manifest as a problem until many years later.
This current lockdown isn’t making it any easier for any of us!
I hope this veteran gets the help he needs and overcomes his issues. ??
It’s good it happened during daytime hours not at night or weekend. No mental health team available then. Not really responsive whenever needed.
