“You have to make sure you are putting them in places where they’re most likely to succeed,” Cardon said.

According to Cardon, it is based on common sense on where to place the glue boards and science is involved. Keep in mind that rats are blind, so they feel their way with their whiskers to point A to point B.

Place the glue board up against the baseboard so that it is parallel. This will result in the rat running along the baseboard and eventually it will capture the rat. Make sure that you place the glue board in the middle area of point A and B.

“You want to put it right in the middle…because that is where they’re gonna be at a full sprint,” Cardon said.

Cardon had a customer where rats come out at night to eat fruit out of their fruit baskets. Cardon used the same method to prove that it works. He placed the glue boards against the baseboard where the rat needs to run along on. The next day he came back to a rat trapped on the glue board.

Remember to throw away the glue board right away to avoid unpleasant odor.
