The Valencia Marketplace hosted a variety of family-friendly activities Saturday, including the Aquarium of the Pacific’s “Aquarium on Wheels,” where kids could get up close and personal with sea creatures.

The Valencia Marketplace kicked off the first 100 degree-days of summer with several activities for the whole family to enjoy.

When residents arrived, one of the first things they noticed was the life-size inflatable figures of both an elephant seal and a great white shark.

“We did this last year,” said Connie Cashin, marketing director for Valencia Marketplace. “We wanted to have it return this summer because it was such a popular thing.”

Additionally, the marketplace also had the “Aquarium on Wheels” mobile exhibit from the Aquarium of the Pacific.

“The kids can actually get up close and personal with these sea creatures,” Cashin said. “They can actually go up and pet them.”

KHTS was also at the Valencia Marketplace, bringing their iconic antique fire truck for families to climb aboard and take photos.
