Assemblyman Tom Lackey, R-Palmdale, has returned home after being hospitalized for COVID-19, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Lackey, who represents the 36th State Assembly District, took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce his return home.
“I’m back at home and resting in Palmdale,” he wrote. “Thank you for your prayers.”
George Andrews, who serves as Lackey’s chief of staff, told KHTS on Thursday that he had spoken to the assemblyman on Wednesday, and that while he is “very tired,” he is doing well, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Lackey had previously been hospitalized since July 5, and was one of five members of the California State Assembly to test positive for COVID-19.
This prompted State Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon to delay the Assembly’s return to session.
“The Assembly will remain in recess until further notice,” Rendon said in a statement issued July 6. “We have taken this decision, as we did in March, to protect members, staff and the public from exposure, and it comes in light of recent news of positive coronavirus tests in the Capitol.”

Why isn’t there one Republican angry that Putin interfered with our election and will do so again, or denounce Trump’s silence when Putin placed a bounty on American soldiers lives in Afghanistan, or condemn Putin when he tried to hack into labs developing vaccines to treat Corona virus. Where is the Republican rebuke of Trump when he said Nazis are fine people, where’s the Republican outrage against Trump commuting Roger Stone’s sentence, or dismantling the DOJ. Name one Republican who spoke out against Trump abusing his power of authority and calling federal police to attack peaceful protesters for a photo op? Where’s the Republican outrage as Trump destroys our Constitution, posts “White Power” video on his Twitter feed, or claims this virus is a hoax?

I am worried about what the American way is becoming.
I have never before seen uninvited uniformed US Marshals with no identification pull terrified protestors into unmarked cars.Portland officials DID NOT WANT them to “assist” with the protesting. They were making progress with the protestors.The Marshals were sent to make it look like we have a “Law and Order“ leader. The videos don’t look anything like the America I grew up in. Scary.
PS Please don’t respond with a singular example of a protestor doing something wrong. The vast majority were well-behaved. Regardless, getting pulled off the street in this way is not what we do. Scary.
