Following in the yearly tradition of Black Friday, businesses and stores across Santa Clarita are witnessing residents camped out front, eagerly awaiting the once a year sales offered in the early morning hours following Thanksgiving.

“We’ve been doing this since 2005,” said Robert, a professional Black Friday buyer from Santa Clarita sitting in front of the Bouquet Canyon Best Buy. “We basically come in, spend a couple of days here, get the doorbuster hot-ticket items, and we save about $300-400 on each big-ticket item.”

For the Best Buy Black Friday shoppers, like Robert and his godson, who was sitting next to him in the line, the item they’re all in the hunt for is the 50” Panasonic Smart TV. And for someone like Robert, this sale is not only a family affair, but also a business transaction.

“We purchase the item at their sale price, and then resell it,” said Robert.

Best Buy is not the only business conducting sales early Friday morning. UFC Gym, for instance, is offering customers discounts on memberships and free programs to try out their unique brand of workout regimens.

“Black Friday brings our best deals of the year and through next monday we’re charging no enrollment fees for all memberships,” said Mike Lindsay, owner of UFC Gym in Santa Clarita. “Also, we’re doing buy one year, get one year of membership free.”

Additionally, Kenneally Acupuncture and The Healing Resource Center is conducting special Black Friday sales, offering customers discounts on treatments and sessions redeemable throughout the year.

“We’re doing a holiday deal through Dec. 31 by offering three acupuncture sessions, a $330 value, for $199,” said Kathleen Keannelly, owner of Kenneally Acupuncture. “Also, we’re doing $20 for 30 minutes on our amethyst bio-mat, which is good for inflammation, swelling, detox and weight loss.”
