Several Black Lives Matter events were held in Santa Clarita Saturday, marking the ninth straight day of protests and demonstrations.
At the corner of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard, dozens of people gathered to peacefully protest the death of George Floyd.
The protestors held homemade signs and walked the crosswalks around the intersection, much like the past week of protests.
In Central Park, a demonstration was held with the intent to talk about the recent events in the community. The demonstrators stood in a circle, passing around a megaphone to share stories and discuss what changes they wanted to see in society.
“We are trying to show people we are here. There are black and brown communities here that deserve a voice and deserve to be heard in both our community and as a society,” said Sebastian Cazares, one of the organizers of the demonstration. “We are trying to make actual positive changes in the community and show that we are more than the stereotypes.”

The group at Central Park wanted to remind everyone that there are multiple sides and many different people involved in every demonstration, and that staying peaceful will go further than being violent.
“We realize there are bad protestors and also bad cops, but we want to prove to them that we are not bad ourselves. These officers here today came up to us and asked how we are doing this morning and that they respect what we are doing,” said Demar Ruiz, another organizer for the event.
Gabriel Prieto, another organizer for the demonstration, added that deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station have shown them kindness and understanding over the past several days.
“They even asked us if we needed anything to just ask” he said. “It’s about love. Out of the love and respect they have for us they asked. It’s remarkable hearing their point of view and then them hearing our perspective.”
Ultimately, the demonstrators are hoping that peacefully bringing to light issues in the community will bring about conversations to begin and change to follow.
“These were not even the officers we talked to yesterday,” Prieto added. “Those officers must have gone back to the station and talked about how they were approached by us and how we are making a change. The officers here were the nicest officers I’ve ever encountered and it makes me truly believe that love will defeat all.”
More demonstrations and protests are scheduled throughout the next few days.

This is good. I’ve been saying all along that there is an agenda. So why is the media not reporting any of this?
Why doe the media not tell anybody that one of the cops asked to move george Floyd but told no by the officer in charge. Why does the media not report both sides. Are they afraid? Or do they have an agenda? It’s really scary how the media can manipulate a whole country.

I imagine that because they were rookies and said something their their culpability may be diminished.
I’ve heard Black suppression directly, I’ve seen it in action. I was once pulled over for a traffic stop in Watts. I was wrong, but the signage was confusing. I’ll never forget the cop telling me if I was black he’d give me a citation, but because I wasn’t he let me go. Now, I was happy to be released. But, I never forgot the incident. In high school our drama department produced Our Town by Thornton Wilder. I got a part. A very talented African American girl did not, and was told there were no parts for Blacks in the play. Again, I was happy to get the part, but, the adults selected the play and could have done a more equitable job doing so. How is that not suppression? How can there be both sides when someone died because his windpipe was crushed and he couldn’t breathe while he was in handcuffs? What other side could there be? A rhetorical question, of course, because there is no other side to murder. A basic premise in this country is that someone is innocent until proven guilty. A policeman is not judge,jury and executioner.

I’ve talked to at least a couple dozen BLM supporters in Santa Clarita and Los Angeles. Not one presented George Floyd as a hero or model citizen. They want “justice for George Floyd” who everyone agrees should not have died in the manner in which he did.

Candace’s statistics are inconsistent, she’s not credible. Quoting her:
1. “You have a 25% higher chance as a violent white criminal of dying at the hands of a police officer than you do as a black criminal.” 2. “Last year a total of 9 unarmed black men were killed by police officers and 19 white men were killed by police officers.” Is she talking about armed or unarmed? She switches.
19/9 = 2.1x = 210% higher not 25% higher which would be just over 11 not 19, just pointing out the inconsistency which begs the question are 1. and 2. referring to the same data?
Candace goes on to say: “White people represent 60% of the population and black people represent just 13% of the population’… Unfortunately the black community commits a disproportionate amount of crimes compared to the white community. 6% of the population, black men, accounts for 44% of all murders in this country according to 2018 statistics, white people who represent 60% of the population represent 50% of all murders… We commit 50% of all violent offenses evenly split [I thought it was 44%?].”
She uses the same figures to explain “crimes”, “murders” and “violent offenses” which are not the same thing. And she started talking about “last year”, then says 2018.

I would like to hear the numbers that she refers to violent crimes, ratio black to non black. Numbers of black vs non black resisting arrest. All of it. Now if the cop and George worked together in the past in a club do you think that cop had a vendetta against him for some reason, and he purposely left his knee there because of past history with the two, and knowing he harmed a pregnant lady and all the other crap the guy did. it more than likely to have nothing to do with any cop but the the one with the knee to the throat. the cop wasn’t an angel either he did have a so called criminal record as a cop, and the cop may have harmed anyone that tried to remove him from George. the protesters and rioters have ABSOLUTELY no clue about life and how it works, most of them have no idea why they were there except to FOLLOW someone or just to be part of something dumb so they can post it on their social media account, because they cant think for themselves.. and yes the media will NEVER EVER tell the truth the whole truth so help them god.

People are waking up each and every day. Most people know the media is biased and controlled by liberals and spreading lies. Let’s be honest, these teenagers are simply putting this on their Tik Tok and Instagram. It’s the thing to do this week in AwesomeTown. It heartbreaking our local hero’s are being called vulgar disgusting things when only a few months ago they provided safety during a horrific shooting at Saugus High school. Hands down the best law enforcement around!!! We are grateful each and every day for their protection.

This country was founded in a very violent racist way. We slaughtered the former occupants of the continent then used kidnapped Africans to plunder it. Racism made treating native Americans and African slaves like subhumans OK. The world doesn’t need BLM to tell them the US has a lot of racist residue, to this day.
I’m pretty sure we have a few Mexicans who have risen above the stereotypes listed above.

David Dorn is a black retired police officer. He was shot and killed by black thugs in St. Louis last week while trying to stop them from looting. Where was BLM or the Lamestream Media to condemn his murder? He gave his life to try and save a privately owned business. The reason is it does not fit in the media’s narrative. Once again, where is BLM to condemn his murder? Where is BLM to condemn the countless murders in Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, and more to stop black on black killing.
All the defunding and cuts to the law enforcement should fix all of this violent crime. Is law enforcement to blame for all the crime? I’m just not understanding what the logic is. Maybe some one could explain this.

People are so fed up and offended that they’re demonstrating. It isn’t that each and every person out there is a “member” of BLM. It’s about ending hate and police brutality. People feel inspired to express the wish to change human interaction for the better. Have you seen the thousands and thousands of people all over the world in the streets? That should be enough proof that something very important is happening here.
Representing BLM is a radicalized group. The hypocrisy in the message is unbelievable. If you choose love then don’t align with a group that uses violence, vandalizing, and arson and HATE to get citizens to comply!!!!!!!!!! Do your research people.
