Bullseye! Santa Clarita Dart Team Wins National Tournament

A Santa Clarita Valley dart team proudly represented our community at the most recent National Dart Association (NDA) Tournament by earning first-place honors.

The competition occurred this past month at the Westgate Casino and Resort, from May 4 to May 10, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first-place winner, “Three Men and a Baby,” consisted of John Barila, Tim Burks, Trevor Lynskey, and Daniel Winkler.

“This was no vacation in Vegas. To be on your game, there was no party that one would expect to engage in while on the strip,” said Burks. “We were committed to the tournament and bringing home the trophy!”

The team was presented by Unique Vending by Dale and sponsored by Marci’s Sports Bar & Grill in Santa Clarita, which “Three Men and a Baby” calls home.

The Santa Clarita area’s 27 players, all of whom had to qualify throughout the previous year in order to be accepted into the event, were represented by Unique Vending in both team and individual competitions.

With 3,400 contestants from all across the United States and rivals from Canada and Germany, the competition was fierce.

There were 48 teams in each of the nine levels of team events. In the singles competition, there were 64 participants split among 18 levels.

The competition lasted six days, with each day’s play starting at 8 am and going until early evening.

Last year, Marci’s Sports Bar & Grill was voted the best sports bar in Santa Clarita.

“League dart play organized ‘Unique Vending by Dale’ brings some of the best people out. We have a great time here with those that come — socializing, watching games on TV, or playing darts. Having a winning team representing Marci’s is a win for everyone,” said Marci Fischer, Marci’s Sports Bar & Grill owner.

Different players rotate to many locations while competing for their separate teams around the Santa Clarita Valley, and some consider Marci’s home. On Sunday and Thursday nights, Marci’s hosts the teams’ games.

Those interested in playing in an open tournament can attend on Saturday evening.
