Carousel Ranch Executive Director To Step Down Next Year

Denise Redmond, the executive director of Carousel Ranch, announced Thursday that she is set to step down from her position at the beginning of next year.

As she is not retiring, Redmond is set to continue her work with Carousel Ranch, with a focus on fundraising, grants, donor relations and program development, according to officials.

Redmond is one of the founders of Carousel Ranch, which she and Becky Graham, the program director, began in 1997.

Taylor Adachi, the current associate executive director is set to step into the position, providing a seamless transition that has been in the works for the past three years, according to Carousel Ranch officials.

Adachi is set to become executive director as she begins her 10th year with  Carousel Ranch.

“I am proud and honored to be part of the Carousel Ranch team,” Adachi said. “When I started with Carousel Ranch as a volunteer and intern, I never imagined I would be stepping into the executive director role 10 years later. I appreciate the board and staff’s confidence in me to lead this beloved organization. I’m so grateful to Denise for her guidance throughout the years. I look forward to continuing to build on this incredible legacy which has already contributed so much to our community.”

Redmond is excited to see Adachi take over for her.

“It has been my honor to serve in this role for nearly 26 years and today, I couldn’t be happier to see Taylor lead us into the next chapter. The role that I will continue to play is truly a combination of my strengths and the things that bring me joy. I look forward to contributing to the success of Carousel Ranch in this way for many years to come,” Redmond said.

Long time Board Member, mentor and supporter, Wayne Crawford is grateful for the work Redmond has put into making Carousel Ranch into what it is today.

“Denise’s tireless efforts and exceptional organizational skills have helped grow the strongest and best run non-profit in the Santa Clarita Valley from its infancy,” Crawford said. “As co-founder of Carousel Ranch, she’s been instrumental in expanding what was once a one-horse backyard equine therapy program into a successful nonprofit that now serves over 100 students weekly. Her leadership skills are unmatched — and like a true innovator, she has ensured the continued development of the Ranch by identifying and nurturing exceptional talent who will see that future generations also benefit from all this beloved organization has to offer.”

Carousel Ranch is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with special needs. Through both our equestrian therapy and vocational training programs, we strive to create an atmosphere where every student can and will succeed”’a place where therapy is disguised as fun.
