Circle Of Hope Announces Cancer Fundraiser ‘Hoedown For Hope’ In Newhall

Hoedown for Hope, a fundraising event set to be hosted in Newhall by local-nonprofit Circle of Hope, was announced Friday.

The event is expected to feature live music, a barbecue competition, a pie competition, a silent auction and other family fun, according to officials.

“Our hope is to bring more awareness in our local community about all that Circle of Hope is currently providing truly changing lives of those fighting Cancer and their families,” said Rebecca DeLuca, one of the events three chairs.

For those interested in competing in the barbecue contest themselves, there is a $1,000 prize on the line for the grill master that takes home first place, while second and third place winners can expect to take home $500 and $300, respectively, according to officials.

Officials say that the funds raised by the event are intended to go towards supporting members of the community currently battling with cancer in the form of emotional, education and financial assistance.

Tickets are listed at $40 for general admission, $70 for VIP tickets and $10 for kids ages 3-12.

VIP admission includes unlimited tastings of barbecue and pie, access to a separate VIP line for each tasting table, one free drink ticket and access to a private VIP area with tables and chairs.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Back Porch Music in Newhall, which is expected to accommodate approximately 200 guests.
