Concerned Citizen Offers Free Pet Grooming To Find Missing Dog From Rollover Crash

A concerned citizen is offering free pet grooming to anyone who can find a dog that went missing after a rollover crash on the 5 Freeway last week.

Around 10:20 a.m. Friday, a three-vehicle crash was reported on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of the 14 Freeway interchange, according to Nicolas Prange, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There were four patients in total, two in critical condition, and two in “fair” condition, said Prange.

In the midst of the crash, a female dog from one of the vehicles ran off, possibly towards the nearby Roxford exit.

The dog’s name is Arie, and her owner, Ellen Anderson-Morgensen, is very concerned for the safety of her canine companion. She only recently adopted Arie earlier this month on April 13.

“I love my baby, and all my children really miss her,” Anderson-Morgensen said.

Anderson-Morgensen shared some key features to help community members find Arie:

  • She has one brown ear.
  • There’s a square, almost shaped like the state of Oregon, above Arie’s rear end.
  • She has one spot above her nose.

Arie used to be a breeder’s dog, and has now transitioned to life as a service dog, according to Anderson-Morgensen.

“If you find her, do not run up on her — she hates that,” Anderson-Morgensen said. “If you stand back and call to her, she will come.”

As the story of Arie’s disappearance spread over social media over the weekend, one concerned community member has offered her professional grooming services as a reward to help in the search for the missing canine.

“I’m a mobile pet groomer and have my own van,” wrote Kimberly Ann Rothman in an email to KHTS. “I’d be willing to offer a free pet grooming to the person who helps in reuniting this pup with the owners.”

Anyone with information regarding Arie is encouraged to contact the number listed on the above flyer.

“All it takes is simply people keeping their eyes open for this pup,” Rothman wrote. “I don’t have money to offer a reward, but I certainly would be more than happy to donate my services.”
