Containment Set Up After Man Allegedly Shot At Deputies With Pellet Gun In Santa Clarita

A containment in Santa Clarita was set up after a man allegedly shot at deputies with a pellet gun Monday evening, officials said.

UPDATE (8:40): The area has been cleared. Lanes in both directions of Soledad Canyon Road between Camp Plenty Road and Langside Avenue in Canyon Country are open, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s officials.

At around 6:40 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials received reports of shots fired from the wash off of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country between Langside Avenue and Cedar Crest Drive, according to Deputy Michelle Sanchez with the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. 

“The containment is being set up after deputies were possibly shot with a pellet gun,” Sanchez said. 

Deputies have closed down westbound Soledad Canyon Road at Camp Plenty Road almost all the way to Langside Avenue to search for the suspect, according to officials on scene. 

Backup has been requested by deputies including both the aero unit and canine unit to flush out  the suspect.

As of Monday evening, information on the type of weapon has not been confirmed. 

No injuries were reported.

  1. Welcome to the new culture where this stuff will only increase. No wonder why 168k people more left CA than came here. Sad how these poor policies are literally creating refugees within the US to other safer States and we are also on that list
