A Santa Clarita Deputy purchased and installed a new mailbox for an elderly woman who had hers stolen in hopes of making her day better.
Deputies received a call about an elderly resident who had her mailbox stolen with three days of mail in it, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputy Salazar purchased a new mailbox for the elderly resident and even installed it for her, in hopes of making her day a little better.
Deputies were unable to recover the elderly resident’s stolen mail.
This is not the first time deputies have paid out of pocket to help Santa Clarita residents in need of help.
While in the midst of the pandemic, deputies were able to provide supplies to a family whose father had lost his job.
Deputies immediately went to Target and bought food for the family as well as clothing for the man’s young child.
