Dink For Cause is scheduled to host a “Gratitude Gala” fundraiser this Saturday night at the Paseo Club in Valencia.

The gala fundraiser, set for April 29th, is anticipated to feature appetizers, desserts, dancing, and raffles. The event “celebrates” the non-profit’s first year as a “community-focused fundraising organization.” 

“We are giving thanks to all who have supported us this past year and all who helped make our dream a reality. We are an official 501c3!” said Monica Hicks, co-founder of Dink For Cause.

Dink For Cause was founded by Monica Hicks and Mitra Sushinsky after the pair met over a game of pickleball. A “dink” is a term in pickleball when a player hits a shot into the Non-Volley Zone.

Dink For Cause strives to raise money and awareness for various charities and non-profits through hosting pickleball events and tournaments, bringing communities together and helping others one “dink” at a time, according to their mission statement. 

The organization has also begun registration for a charity tournament event in June in honor of Hicks’ late husband Leo with proceeds benefiting Be The Match Foundation.
