Disneyland officials announced the closing date for Splash Mountain and revealed the new plan for the ride.
On Wednesday, Disneyland officials announced the last day to ride Splash Mountain is scheduled to be May 31 in order for it to be transformed into, “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.”
“The magic of the bayou is calling, so listen closely because we’re ‘digging a little deeper’ into the experience guests can expect from the future attraction coming to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” said Carmen Smith, senior vice president, creative development – product/content and inclusive strategies.

Back in the summer, Disney officials announced that they would be closing down Splash Mountain and retheming it due to some controversy with the ride.
“The famed water ride, which features a steep drop, came under fire on social media because it features characters and music from “Song of the South,” a 1946 animated film that has been accused of employing racist tropes about the post-Civil War South,” officials said in a Fox article.
The new ride is set to feature characters from the 2009 film, ‘The Princess and the Frog,’ according to officials.
Guests travel through the ride on the boat while listening to songs from the film keeping a similar set up to Splash Mountain.
Guests are set to see and hear familiar faces and voices on the ride featuring Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen and Mama Odie, added officials.
Splash Mountain at DisneyWorld located in Florida has been closed since the beginning of the year due to the same transformation.
Disney’s new ride is scheduled to open in 2024 for guests to experience, according to officials.

Anyone who supports Disneyland needs to rethink their morals
Walt would be so mad if he knew what they are doing, not to mention the high prices for families. Too much greed in this century!
Just more Affirmative Action/DEI/Woke agencies catering to snowflake, trouble causing, emotionally unstable crybabies! Just more of successful Traditional Values being eroded by insane Liberals! Wake up, not Woke up Sheeple!
There are paranoid people running around trying to control our lives.1)book bans 2)wanting parental input in education, which has always existed. School-based management includes teachers, administers, and parents that are voted in and meet monthly with a published agenda. Parent centers are based on many campuses for those interested in participating. Classroom volunteers are welcome. There is an assumption that teachers have offensive curriculum, which they don’t. 3)ban on abortion , which is the business of the individual, as if women take the decision lightly.
The far right claims to believe in freedom, but many of us see the hypocrisy these snowflakes embody.
