Themed “Explore, Play, Create,” the free event is open to the public, and is set to feature interactive and educational activities for the families of Santa Clarita.
Local students, teachers, artists and education enthusiasts will be partnering to host stations focused on the theme of “Explore, Play, Create.”
“Families who attend the event can expect a fun day of celebrating literature, music, dance and crafts,” reads a statement on the city website. “Get inspired to create artistic expression with special performances by Ballet Folklórico and Saugus Choirs, as well as shows by talented musicians Joe Ayoub and Martin Espino.”
Other activities scheduled for the Family Literacy Festival include face painting, a caricature artist, costumed character photo opportunities, and a mini salsa dance lesson.
The event is also set to feature opportunities for participants to win prizes and giveaways, as well as food trucks to help feed attendees, according to city officials.
