A local nonprofit invited the community to a special open house event to celebrate the launch of their new resource center on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Finally Family Homes hosted an open house for residents and community members to view as they recently launched their new Oasis Resource Center to help those who have aged out of the foster care system.
“The center is so much more, like if they need housing we have a program called host homes where we partner them up with a family through a program called Life Launch,” said Heidi Leonhardt, Event Coordinator.
The Oasis Resource Center features a range of amenities aimed at supporting its visitors, including a game room with a snack bar, a study room, computer access, and a “shopping” area where essential items are available at no cost.
These facilities are intended to provide a support system for young adults, particularly those transitioning from foster care or facing other significant challenges
“This program has helped me in many ways, when I didn’t think I had any support, they were to support me,” said Alexis Mendez.
