GoFundMe Set Up For Woman Killed After Three-Story Fall From Valencia Parking Structure

A GoFundMe has been set up for the woman who was killed Monday after she fell from the third-story of a parking structure near the Valencia Town Center while learning how to ride a motorcycle.

Maribel Espitia was identified by friends as the woman killed in the parking structure accident on Monday, a GoFundMe stated.

“My best friend Maribel Espitia was in a tragic accident and lost her life,” said Destiny Gonzalez, in the GoFundMe. “Anyone who knew or met Maribel knew that she was an exceptional person who you only meet once in a lifetime.”

While initial reports were that Espitia was performing stunts on the top level of the parking structure by Sheriff’s officials, her cousin told KHTS that she was learning how to ride a motorcycle on the parking structure on McBean Parkway.

Espitia lost control of the motorcycle, which resulted in her colliding with the wall and falling to her death, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Espitia’s friends have set up a GoFundMe to raise money for funeral expenses, according to Gonzalez.

“Words itself can’t even describe how pure and kind hearted she was, she left us all way too soon,” Gonzalez said. “Anything that can be donated to help with her funeral cost or other expenses would greatly be appreciated. All donations will be given to her parents Susana and Sergio Espitia.”

As of Wednesday, $12,780 of their $20,000 goal has been met.

A memorial for Espitia is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Infiniti of Valencia where she worked.

  1. Uh, No.
    Misbehave and snuff happens.
    This was her own doing.

  2. Play stupid games, get stupid prizes.

Anyone who gives a penny to this gofundme is misguided nut. Actions have repercussions and if we keep rewarding people for their stupidity it will only result in more stupidity.

  3. 20k for a funeral and “other expenses”. Yeah, NO.

  4. I’m near 70 years old and when I was younger I walked away from a couple of car accidents that could have easily gone very, very bad for me like it did for this young person. I have nothing but sadness for her and sympathy for her family and friends for this loss of life. I doubt the people who wrote the previous comments would speak like they did if they were face to face with this young girl’s family and friends.

  5. It’s not easy to feel sorry for someone doing something risky like that. She knew what she was doing, allegedly. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Just sayin’.

  6. How unfeeling, unkind, and disrespectful people can be. A GoFund Me to help with funeral expenses is for her family who are grieving a loss. This isn’t a place for cruel and insensitive comments. God bless her, her family, and her friends and may He shield them from those living in glass houses.

  7. What’s with the mean comments a young lady had a terrible accident and died. You youngsters ain’t right in the soul. Let this old man show you what to say. I would like to give my condolences to the Espitia family so sorry for your loss may she Rest In Peace.

  8. That’s a loud NO from me. People need to be responsible for their own families, ask friends but not strangers. Cremation is affordable, a fancy funeral is for those who are left behind.. when you are dead you are dead you don’t see the party.

PS: she never should have been doing what she was doing, where she was doing it. Have her “friends” who were with her pay for it

  9. RIP young lady I can’t believe what I’m reading some people just have no sympathy It’s ashamed and disrespectful, May the good lord save your soul Maribel.

  10. May those of you who judge the manner in which a human being looses their life, never make a mistake in which you parrish. Say while driving legally on city streets. SMH

    • Parrish means a county in Louisiana, or area served by a Catholic church. Perish means to cease bodily functions irreparably.
May those who cast shame, learn to spell the words they try to use, before speaking ill of the living.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
