KHTS Radio, Santa Clarita’s only local radio station, has officially started broadcasting on FM at 98.1.

“After owning KHTS for 28 years we finally have been able to add an FM station to the mix. KHTS will now continue to broadcast on AM 1220 but now will also be simulcasting on 98.1 FM,” said Carl Goldman, owner of KHTS Radio.

The FM station will be a simulcast of what is being aired on KHTS AM-1220 station but will allow for clearer quality throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

“The addition of the 98.1 FM signal allows us to reach a broader audience with a very high-quality signal that covers the entire Santa Clarita Valley,” explained Goldman. “We’re excited because it adds an additional funnel to the KHTS media package, along with our daily email news briefs, which are the most read news briefs in the valley, our AM station, our KHTS website, www.hometownstation.com, our iPhone and Android apps, along with the streaming of our programming on our website and through podcasts and of course our various social media outlets. FM 98.1 is yet another way to touch and connect with our audience.”

As Santa Clarita’s only local radio station, KHTS is committed to broadcast programming which highlights information about our valley, mixing in news, traffic, weather and sports and music from contemporary adult artists such as Maroon Five, Taylor Swift, Pink and Keith Urban

“Both stations will continue to stay focused on Santa Clarita by remaining hyper-local, covering our local news, important community events, and local emergencies,” Goldman explained. “We’re looking forward to building an additional audience with the newest addition to KHTS Radio, FM 98.1.”

The addition of the FM station will provide Santa Clarita residents with yet another outlet from which they can get their local news.
