An overturned cement truck Friday has stopped all Metrolink train traffic from coming in and out of the Santa Clarita Valley, officials said.
UPDATE: As of 1:47 p.m. tracks were reopened, and train 216 is delayed up to one hour, and is the only train affected by the closure, according to officials.
Around 12:45 p.m. Friday, a cement truck reportedly tipped over near the 12000 block of Branford Street in the San Fernando Valley closing down the tracks between the Newhall and Sylmar Metrolink Stations on the Antelope Valley Line, said Paul Gonzales, a spokesperson for Metrolink.
“We have our trains stopped at the Newhall Station,” Gonzales said.
No trains were involved in the collision, according to Los Angeles Fire Department officials.
The Antelope Valley Line is expected to be closed for approximately 45 minutes, according to Gonzales.
Firefighters are still on scene working to clear the wreckage and clean up spilled fuel, according to officials.
