Lunch was donated to the new Fire Station 104 in Saugus on Father’s Day by Passion Project in celebration of the holiday.
The Passion Project, a local organization of volunteers, delivered a pizza lunch to the newly-built Fire Station 104, to welcome them and celebrate Father’s Day.
“We wanted to highlight 104 because they are the new station that just opened up here in our valley,” said founder Vicente Escamilla. “Wanted to give them an unofficial welcome to this side of the Santa Clarita Valley, as well as celebrate those fathers at the station and make sure that their day is as special as any other dad that’s at home now.”
The crew for Station 104 only recently was placed in their permanent home, after waiting for about a year for their new facility to be finished.
“We’re all very excited to be here,” said 104’s Captain Robert “Bob” George. “We’ve been anticipating it for about a year and we finally got in here, I guess, last week and we were sharing stations. So the biggest issue with that was we weren’t in our jurisdiction.”
Previously the 104 crew was staying with other nearby Los Angeles County Fire stations. Captain George said the Passion Project made the crew feel welcome in their new station.
“Knowing we have the community’s support is everything,” the Captain said. “I mean, we’re here to serve the community. I know it sounds cliche, but that’s really what we do. Having the Passion Project come out, they’re part of the city, part of our community and supporting us and making us feel welcome.”

KHTS Radio Santa Clarita Radio – Santa Clarita News

Terrific news about a new fire station (somewhere in the SCV) and lunch being delivered to them (somewhere in the SCV). Even better knowing WHERE (in the SCV). What is this, breaking news and we are supposed to check back later for details that never seem to follow? I’m still waiting to hear what happened to the poor dog injured in a crash several months ago for example. C’mom guys, step it up- please.
Just more of supposed reporters David Melarnik & Michael Brown! They don’t report enough truths/facts & follow-ups!
