“KHTS is always reaching out to connect with people from our valley, and People’s Care is just a great organization working in Santa Clarita,” said KHTS Co-Owner Carl Goldman. “We had heard nothing but great things about the program and wanted to see it in action ourselves.”

On Nov. 10, students and participants in the People’s Care program in Valencia were invited to climb aboard and enjoy the KHTS antique fire truck, as well as ask questions about radio broadcasting and reporting.
“When they asked us about the fire truck, we were more than happy to come out and spend time with the students here,” said Goldman. “We love doing events like this.”
People’s Care largely works on creating programs for special needs individuals, such as their independent living options programs, employment and education services, behavioral health services and home health & hospice.

“We have a few individuals here who love fire trucks, so (Carl) took them on a ride around the parking lot and everyone got to check out the inside of the truck,” said Vanessa Guevara, People’s Care program supervisor. “This is a fun part of our educational program.”
