Red Cross Blood Donors From Santa Clarita Could Win Iron Throne From ‘Game Of Thrones’

The American Red Cross is encouraging donors from Santa Clarita and beyond to give blood or platelets during National Volunteer Month in April, giving them the chance to win a full-size Iron Throne from HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”

“Eligible donors of all blood types – especially type O – are needed to help ensure blood products are available for patients this spring,” said American Red Cross officials.

Many people don’t realize that blood can only come from generous volunteer donors, which is why the Red Cross is dependent on the support of volunteers to ensure that blood and platelets are available to meet patient needs, according to officials.

To encourage donations during National Volunteer Month, the Red Cross and HBO’s Game of Thrones are partnering to award a full-size Iron Throne to one lucky winner.

“To celebrate the final season of Game of Thrones, HBO and the American Red Cross have partnered to encourage fans and donors to show their bravery and valor by bleeding #ForTheThrone,” said officials in a statement. “Many answered the call to give earlier this year, and much like the show, embarking on its final season, the fight for the living isn’t over.”

Those who donate by April 30 will be automatically entered for a chance to win the Iron Throne, according to officials.

Additionally, all donors who give blood from April 11-30 are set to receive a commemorative 18×24 inch “Bleed For The Throne” poster, while supplies last.
