Santa Clarita residents had the chance to try out dozens of local restaurants at the 33rd annual Taste of the Town fundraiser on Sunday while supporting the Child & Family Center.
Dozens of fine local restaurants, caterers, beer and wine purveyors provided unlimited gourmet tastings for attendees at the 33rd Annual Taste of the Town, hosted by the Child & Family Center at Blomgren Ranch on Sunday.
Taste of the Town is the Child & Family Center’s largest fundraiser. The help it provides to the non-profit is more crucial than ever after organizers cancelled the 2020 event due to COVID-19 concerns and the 2021 event was drive-through only.
Not being able to host the event slashed available funds for the Child & Family Center when the need for the organization is higher than ever in our Santa Clarita Valley, according to organizers.
“Over the past year, our therapists and case managers have continued to help over 900 children, teens and families in our community who struggle with anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence situations,” read a statement on the Child & Family Center website. “Your support helps provide funding to continue to provide these crucial services. Thank you!”
Besides the food, visitors also had the chance to dance to live music provided by Mark LeVang and Friends, and place bids on live and silent auction items. Winnings for the evening included weekend getaways, dining experiences, and even a signed shirt by Indycar racing star and Valencia native Colton Herta.
