Two GoFundMe pages set up to help a Canyon Country family with the loss of their husband and father who died last week due to complications with COVID-19, have already raised over $26,000 thanks to community support.

Khadlif Sheers, a Canyon Country resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan.19, leaving behind his wife and two children, according to his family.

As of Saturday Jan 30., a GoFundMe page started by Sheer’s wife, Anita, had surpassed its original goal of $10,000 by $2,385 and the other — started by an employee at iLead Schools — had surpassed its goal by $3,915.

“We will always remember your love for your family and how you made us all feel when you walked into the room – especially your laugh,” read Anita’s GoFundMe.

The second GoFundMe page was started by Nicole Hidgon, an employee with iLead charter schools, where Sheers 6th-grade son Nasir attends their Agua Dulce location.

Sheers was a Private Chef with UrbanBackPack Chef, a gentle and kind man and a huge supporter of iLEAD, according to Hidgon.

The Sheers family as well as their friends at iLead thank the community for coming together and showing support amid this heartbreaking loss, reads the GoFundMe.

Sheers is survived by his wife Anita, son Nasir and daughter Aaliyah.
