City Of Santa Clarita Hosting ‘Dive-In Movies’ For Summer Fun

Santa Clarita residents can watch “Dive-In Movies” this summer for a movie experience while keeping cool, officials announced Tuesday.

The City of Santa Clarita held the first of the two-part series last weekend with “Moana” at the Santa Clarita Pool, with the next movie set to be DreamWorks’ “Trolls” on Saturday, July 27, officials said.

The movie’s rating is PG, and offers entertainment to both children and parents.

“Our City employs bright and innovative staff members who are always coming up with great ways to provide fun events for all members of our community, including our families,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this summertime Dive-in Movie event.”

Before the movie starts, kids can play in the playground or basketball courts just outside of the Santa Clarita Pool. Families can also enjoy a picnic dinner before the movie’s start.

Movie watchers can stay cool on pool floats, or just dip their toes in at the edge. If they’d prefer to stay dry, bring a chair and watch from the “balcony section.”

The pool will open at 7 p.m. for swimming, and the movie won’t start until the sun goes down. Free snacks will also be available, according to City staff.

There’s a $10 fee per person, and pre-registration is recommended but not required, as the event is likely to fill up fast.
