Santa Clarita Residents Asked To Shop Locally For Small Business Saturday

This Saturday, Santa Clarita Valley residents have been welcomed to shop at locally-owned businesses featuring deals and promotions in honor of Small Business Saturday, celebrated since 2010.

On Saturday, Nov. 27, locally-owned businesses in the Santa Clarita Valley, in honor of Small Business Saturday, welcome Santa Clarita residents to come shop in their locations to help the community following the financial losses of COVID-19.

“We have a brand new opening on Main Street in Newhall,” said Robert Reyes, owner of Reyes Winery. Reyes welcomes Santa Clarita residents to stop by for a free glass of wine on Small Business Saturday.

Americans first began observing Small Business Saturday in 2010, and the tradition has fallen on the last Saturday of November ever since.

“I feel like everyone’s out searching for a discount,” said Renee Kennedy, owner of Earth Baby Boutique in Newhall. “But we’ve all also taken so many losses, small businesses, and it’s just a great day top go out and support brick and mortar stores.”

This year, instead of only buying from Amazon, Target or Wal-Mart, Santa Clarita residents are invited to stop by a local shop for their Christmas shopping;

  • Instead of shopping for baby supplies at a big-box store such as Wal-Mart or Target, head to EarthBaby Boutique, offering lots of great products at excellent prices
  • Rather than getting coffee from a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, grab a cup at Honu Coffee
  • Instead of getting dinner from a large chain such as Olive Garden, Red Robin or Chipotle, grab some food from Salt Creek Grille or Olive Terrace
  • Rather than grabbing drinks from a chain such as Chili’s Bar & Grill, head to Reyes Winery, which is set to offer a free glass of wine to customers visiting their new location on Main Street in Newhall
  • Swap out a membership from a large gym such as L.A. Fitness for a membership at Mend Cryotherapy, offering a wide variety of sales throughout the coming week on services and products geared towards treating stress and anxiety, as well as improving the immune system
  • Instead of getting a suit at a chain such as Men’s Warehouse, head over to J. David’s in Valencia for your men’s fashion needs
