Santa Clarita Residents Invited To Attend Public Meeting For Bouquet Canyon Bike Trail Project

Attendees are invited to learn more about the Bouquet Canyon Bike Trail Project, which is expected to provide a safe connection to Central Park from Bouquet Canyon Road.

Santa Clarita residents are invited to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 24 to learn about the Saugus Phase 1: Bouquet Canyon Bike Trail to Central Park project, said Carrie Lujan, Public Information Officer for the City of Santa Clarita.

At the public meeting, attendees can hear from city project managers about the trail and its plan to provide a bike and walking route to connect the two locations without the hazard of vehicle traffic.

The Bouquet Canyon Bike Trail is expected to enhance the city’s trail network in Saugus along the south side of Bouquet Creek, which aims to provide a safe, as well as a healthy way for pedestrians and cyclists to access Central Park from Bouquet Canyon Road.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at Trek Bicycle Santa Clarita Saugus from 4 to 6 p.m. with light refreshments provided.

Trek Bicycle Saugus location is at 26625 Bouquet Canyon Road.

  1. *gasp* The City is considering spending money on something that is not in Canyon Country or Newhall? How did this happen?! Just when we were so used to the benign neglect usually reserved for unwanted stepchildren.

Ten years ago the City Council talked about a bike path along Bouquet Creek from David Way (end of Copper Hill) all the way down to Bouquet Junction. Then they apparently discovered they could enrich themselves with the Newhall “gentrification” scam and such talk ended. Last time we got anything from the City was a medium-sized rock with the words “Welcome to Saugus” carved in it on the side of Bouquet. I estimate we get 1/10th of a penny back for every tax dollar we pay them.

    • The city is going to annex the Tesoro area, so more tax income to spend on the business owners in Newhall. Having four council members live less than a mile away shows where the money goes. The city approved a massive development in Saugus, but they did a poor job with traffic management Too many no right turns, no left turns, will not help the increased traffic. School just started and traffic on Bouquet is a NIGHTMARE.

      • You two are just a bucket of sunshine.

#1 Downtown Newhall is a great part of the Santa Clarita Valley

#2 The more bike paths the better around Santa Clarita Valley, it’s one of the biggest perks this city has to offer.

#3 If you want to complain about how any government/public sector wastes money and never efficiently spends it you’ll spend all your time complaining.

  2. What a nice addition to the city’s trail system. I love it!

  3. Let’s hope it keeps the skin tight, slippery shiny, bright colored, leotard wearing arrogant Bikey Boys out of traffic!

  4. And on the left we have a a natural, unenclosed feral hominoid exhibit with a plethora of odors such as feces, urine, rotting trash and the occasional decomposing biomass.
