Santa Clarita Transit’s ‘GO!’ System Reopens For Service

Residents of the Santa Clarita Valley are once again able to use “GO! Santa Clarita,” a ride-share transit service providing transportation in service areas.

The app-based public transit service “GO! Santa Clarita” is reopening, picking up residents located in the service areas of Fair Oaks, Canyon Country, Newhall, and Needham Ranch.

“GO! Santa Clarita works much like other ride-share services. Customers can use the TripShot smartphone app to request a ride that will pick up and drop off passengers within the service boundaries,” reads the GO! Santa Clarita website. “Following a trip request, the app will provide passengers with an estimated pick-up time, track their bus in real-time, and be alerted when their ride is about to arrive.”

The TripShot smartphone application is meant to help riders, and available for free on iOS and Android devices.

Once a rider has downloaded the app, they must enter their drop-off and pick-up location to book their ride, go to their pick-up location, and pay as they board using either cash, a TAP card, or the Token Transit app.

The “GO! Santa Clarita” transit service is not available for pre-planned reservations, but can either be booked through the app or otherwise by calling (661) 295-6333.

Because the service involves ride-sharing, actual drop-off times may vary slightly due to demand.

The service normally costs $2.00 per person and $1.00 for reduced-fair patrons, but is set to operate free of charge for the remainder of the month of February.

City officials say that “the service is designed to improve access to neighborhoods that have a high demand for transit, as well as areas that are currently not served by traditional fixed-route buses.”

  1. People of all ages packed into a rideshare bus, no problem. non-Covid transmitting kids in a classroom, no dice. Ridiculous. People need to start getting outraged at the poor policy driving what is open and what is still not, largely driven by Union special interests. Unions must be removed from the public sector as they are killing this Country as evidenced by poor public education policy.
