Saugus High School Band Raising Funds For New Uniforms

High school band, a long-beloved and honored tradition and favorite activity, is a crucial part of many students’ high school experience. At Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, their marching band, concert band, and color guard are holding an online fundraiser to support new equipment.

The Saugus High School Band is an award-winning program, having won two sweepstakes awards in the field competition at Oxnard High School and took third place in the Division 4-A competition in the Battle of the Bands at Moorpark High School in November 2021.

Until March 14, the Saugus band and color guard is holding an online fundraiser to raise funds for additional equipment and new uniforms.

According to student Nick Post, the team has not updated their uniforms since 2009 and is in dire need of new threads.

As of Wednesday morning, the fundraiser has collected $8,119 of the total goal of $30,000. With 26 days left to collect the remaining $21,881 to reach their goal.

“We are teaming up with Snap-Raise again for our online fundraiser. Last time we ran was a huge success. Donations will allow us to provide funding necessary to create a great environment for our participants to experience success,” states the fundraiser page.

According to one parent, the band program is experiencing a crucial time for fundraising, and this fundraiser is vital to the team’s experiences this coming concert season, as well as for the Fall 2022 game and tournament season.
