The SCV Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SCV-GSA) is set to hold an online workshop Wednesday, June 17 at 4 p.m.
The workshop, which will be held via web conference, is set to provide input on plans to sustain water supply and recharge groundwater, as a Groundwater Sustainability Plan is developed. This plan, tailored to resources present and needs of the community, is set to be adopted by Jan 2022, according to the press release.
The public is invited to attend this event. Attendees are said to “have an opportunity to learn from experts as they explain the Hydrogeological Conceptual Model – a visual representation of how water moves through the earth,” according to the press release.
Experts are set to describe the geology of our local groundwater basins and aquifers, groundwater conditions, recharging and discharging areas and primary groundwater uses.
After the meeting, an online resource center is set to be available for the public, where videos and handouts are said to be available for further study. Comments are able to be added to the online resource center, answered by experts within 72 hours.
The meeting format and details can be found here.
The SCV-GSA is a joint powers authority responsible for sustainability managing groundwater in the Santa Clara River Valley East Subbasin. Their mission is to achieve sustainable groundwater management of the subbasin within 20 years.

This is supposed to be a public meeting, why are they holding it at 4 in the afternoon. Most people still have to work, even if they are wrking from home. This is supposed to be a public plan. I hope they intend to really include the public and not put obstacles in the way of public participation.
This is supposed to be a public process and a public plan. Most people are still at work at 4PM even if they are working from home. It is disingenuous to have a public meeting at a time when it is difficult for the public to attend. I hope the agency is going to actually try to have public involvement with this important process and not play games to make it difficult for them to participate.
